Saturday Superstore: Nimble Bread

Nimble Diet Advert - Radio Times, 1974
Perhaps one of the most iconic adverts of the early 1970s was Nimble girl Emily Jones precariously balanced on a balloon, flying over ludicrously high landscapes promoting Nimble Bread to the strains of Honeybus' 1968 hit - "I Can't Let Maggie Go".

Emily became known as the Nimble Girl as this advert from 1974 Radio Times illustrates.

Here, the ever careful housewife could send off for a leaflet on The Nimble Diet - the most exciting diet ever! - so says the advert...

Did that mean you had to dangle from a balloon to partake in it?
