On Radio: Diary Of A Nobody Read by Arthur Lowe

Arthur Lowe reads The
Diary Of A Nobody
Thanks to Andy Walmsley who informed me that Arthur Lowe's reading of George and Weedon Grossmith's Victorian comedy The Diary of A Nobody began broadcasting on BBC Radio 4 Extra last Sunday.

Pompous suburban clerk Mr Pooter decides to keep a diary which proves to be an unintentionally amusing account of his oddly eventful life.

Originally broadcast in 1977, The Diary of a Nobody  was adapted by Donald Bancroft and produced by Richard Worley.

This repeat run commemorates the 100th anniversary of the death of George Grossmith  (March 1st 1912) and the 30th anniversary of the passing of Arthur Lowe (April 15th 1982).

The reading which continues over the next four Sunday's is broadcast at 11.30am, 7.30pm and 2.30am.

If you missed Arthur's first reading of the story it is available on BBC iPlayer until Sunday.
