TARDIS Tuesday: The Doctor Under Fire

"Dr Who used to be a tradition. Now its a non-event" exclaimed Sun TV columnist Margaret Forwood in March 1982.

Margaret noted the series new twice-weekly time slot was a disappointment and even ITV's Holiday show Wish You Were Here was pulling in more viewers.

80s Doctor Who - "Sillier Than Usual"

Peter Davison, the latest incumbent in the role also came under fire having been described as having "no authority" and "a bit wet to tell the truth" and that the stories  were "even sillier than usual".

Margaret even said of Adric "of the curious nose" recent passing had gone unnoticed.

"He would have been so much better dying on a Saturday" she concluded.
