CD Review: Prince From Another Planet by Elvis Presley

By 1972, the King of Rock N Roll was well and truly entering the final phase of his career.

Confined to American soil, Elvis played a weekend of dates at Madison Square Garden belting out fabulous renditions of American Trilogy and Proud Mary alongside sped up renditions of Hound Dog and Don’t Be Cruel.

This release features two concerts recorded in the same day, the second been the most superior of the two. It doesn’t capture Elvis at his rock n roll best but it still features him as the consummate performer.

Prince from another planet? Perhaps, as this album illustrates he will always be out of this world.
