Today was quite an exciting day off work for myself as my daughter Seren and I headed to Cardiff to attend the Doctor Who red carpet event and world premiere of the Series 8 episode Deep Breath by Steven Moffat.
The crowds were already growing by the time we arrived for the red carpet event and we waited patiently and hopefully that we might get a glimpse and maybe an autograph of some of the series stars.
As we waited we noticed BBC Wales presenter Jason Mohammed interviewing members of the crowd whilst presenting his Radio Wales show.
We knew we were in the right place when The Cybermen turned up!
Jenna Coleman (Clara) turned up wearing a fetching red dress!
The Daleks helped with crowd control at the red carpet event.
It looked like everyone was running to a tight schedule on the red carpet but show runner Steven Moffat managed to give a few autographs!
Seren and I only got a glimpse of the 12th Doctor Peter Capaldi on the red carpet , who moved past us pretty quickly!
We were better served after the screening of Deep Breath when the audience had a Q&A session conducted by Jason Mohammed with Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman and Steven Moffat.
New Doctor, Peter Capaldi remarked he was impressed with the "staggering enthusiasm " of fans who had turned up to the event from across the world.
Jenna Coleman made a costume change for the Q&A and revealed that working on Doctor Who was "An amazing experience, there's no other show like it and its a very happy crew".
Steven Moffat is always entertaining regards his thoughts on Doctor Who. "I write it largely to entertain me," he said, before continuing, "I write it to entertain kids too".
The new series of Doctor Who commences on BBC1 with Deep Breath on August 23. You can read my report of the event for The South Wales Argus here.
